If you’re looking for the perfect New Year’s Day brunch beverage or just something impressive to serve your family and friends over the holidays, we got the perfect drink for you.
We took our favorite Poinsettia recipes online (shout out to Martha Stewart and the Food Network) and tweaked them to our southern liking. And that means, of course, adding a dash of southern liquor. We chose Picker’s Blood Orange Vodka from Nashville, Tennessee. The result? Chattanooga Brunches’ very own Country Poinsettias! Drink responsibly.
Ingredients Per Drink (Double Per Person):
- 1 oz. of Pickers Blood Orange Flavored Vodka
- 1 oz. of Cranberry Juice
- 1–2.5 oz. of Champagne (we used Korbel Brut)
- 1 slither of Orange Zest
- Crushed Ice
Directions:
- Mix one shot of vodka and one shot of cranberry juice in a ice-filled cocktail shaker; double recipe for two drinks (see video for example).
- Shake until frosty (cocktail shaker should look like your car window on a cold morning).
- Add crushed ice to glass(es) (can use either a cocktail or wine glass depending on desired tempereature/aesthetic).
- Pour vodka-cranberry mixture over ice.
- Pop champagne, and pour to rim of glass.
- Garnish with slither of orange zest.
- Enjoy!
